New Mastercard® Debit and Credit Cards

At Pheple Federal Credit Union, we're committed to enhancing your banking experience. We're thrilled to announce that this September, we have upgraded our Visa debit and credit cards to new Mastercard® cards. This conversion represents a significant improvement in our services, ensuring you have access to a seamless and secure payment experience.

Important Dates to Remember:

  • Starting August 14: You may notice one or more additional cards listed in the Card Control section of your mobile app or Online Banking. Please do not deactivate these cards.

  • Beginning of September: Look out for your new Mastercard® debit and credit cards arriving in your mailbox. Please follow the accompanying instructions to activate your new card(s) before September 15. Continue using your existing Visa debit and credit cards.

  • Before September 15: Continue to use your existing Visa debit and credit cards until September 14. Your new Mastercard® cards will not work until September 15.

  • September 15: Please note that all existing Visa debit and credit cards will be deactivated. From this date forward, please start using your new Mastercard® cards for all transactions.

  • October 8: Your new cards will be available to be loaded into Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay digital wallets.

What You Will Need to Do:

  1. Activate Your New Card(s): Upon receiving your new Mastercard® debit and credit cards, follow the enclosed instructions to activate your card before September 15.

    Tips for an easy activation:
    •     Make sure you call from the phone number listed as the primary number on your account.
    • For debit cards, use the cardholder's personal information to verify the card.
    • For joint credit cards, use the primary member's information to verify the card.
    • The activation system is automated. If a live person answers, hang up and check the number you dialed.
    • Continue using your existing Pheple FCU Visa card until September 15.

  2. Update Automatic Payments: If you have any automatic payments or subscriptions linked to your old Visa cards, you’ll need to update them after September 15 with your new Mastercard® card information to avoid any interruptions in service.

  3. Enjoy Enhanced Benefits: Your new Mastercard® cards come with enhanced security features and benefits designed to protect your transactions and offer you more convenience.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Cards will ship at the end of August and you should receive your card(s) in early September. Once you receive your new card, you should activate it by calling the number listed on the activation label on the front of the card. For Debit cards, when calling the number to activate the card, you will be prompted to set a PIN.

    If you do not receive a new debit and/or credit card by September 10, please contact us.

    Here’s a few more pro tips for an easy activation:

    • Be sure that you are calling from the phone that is listed as primary on the account for that card.

    • The voice activation is very sensitive so try pressing mute and use the phone’s keypad to type in your numbers.

    • Having trouble? Come see us in a branch for assistance or give us a call!

  • Yes, the card number, expiration date, and CVV number will be different than your current card. You’ll need to update your automatic and saved payment information after the card conversion. 

    Don’t forget to update your card information wherever you have it saved! Digital Wallet, iCloud, Amazon, subscriptions, streaming services, and anywhere that it's set up to pay a bill. 

  • Yes, digital wallet capabilities will be available for your new Mastercard on October 7. We will notify you via email as soon as this is available!

  • No. Your payment will still be due on the 28th of each month.

  • For purchases made using your Pheple FCU Mastercard® credit card, you’ll have new, enhanced benefits, including: 

    • Travel Accident Insurance: Provides cardholders, their spouse/domestic partner, and unmarried dependent children with automatic common carrier accidental death and dismemberment coverage up to $250,000. Also includes $100 per day Baggage Delay. 

    • MASTERRENTAL Coverage: When you rent a vehicle for fifteen (15) days or less, the covered cardholder and those designated in the rental agreement as authorized drivers are covered for physical damage and theft of the vehicle, loss of use charges, and towing charges to the nearest collision repair facility. 

    • Purchase Assistance: Coverage for damaged or stolen items within ninety (90) days of purchase. 

    • Extended Warranty: Double the original manufacturer's warranty for up to twelve (12) months. 

    • MASTERASSIST Travel Assistance Services: Travel assistance before and during travels, and medical, legal, and roadside assistance services.
