Using the correct information helps ensure your funds are delivered safely and without unnecessary delays.
Things to Know Before Sending a Wire
Wire transfers are commonly used for important transactions, but they are also a frequent target for fraud. Before sending a wire, take a moment to make sure the request is legitimate.
Here are a few important reminders:
Verify the recipient. Confirm the recipient’s identity and wire instructions using a trusted phone number or contact method.
Be cautious of urgent requests. Scammers often create a sense of pressure or emergency to convince you to send money quickly.
Watch for changed payment instructions. If you receive new or updated wiring instructions by email, call the recipient directly using a known, trusted number before sending funds.
Never send money to someone you don’t know or haven’t verified. Once a wire is sent, it may not be recoverable.
Contact us if something feels off. If you’re unsure about a wire request, reach out to Pheple FCU before proceeding.
